The Economy. Wow. That is a topic to start an argument at your local coffee shop! It doesn’t matter what dimension of the debate you are on, there are a infinite number of difficult issues to tackle. Should it be all doom and gloom? Absolutely NOT! So what can we do about it?
First, remember that despite what the news media keeps droning, the sun will come up tomorrow. Good things still happen, and we are still surrounded by good people! If you want to put a smile on your face, perform a random act of kindness: buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line, help a neighbor, or visit an elderly friend. Send an up-beat email to a far away friend or pop a card in the mail (better yet, make the card too).

I am constantly wanting to learn new things. I go from subject to subject and sometimes just jump around between them and drive myself crazy. Currently, I am learning about Robert's Rules in preparation for the Registered Parliamentarian exam I mentioned earlier this week. However, I am also in the middle of learning how to make a podcast and what's involved in setting up an RSS feed. On the personal side, I am knee deep in books about starting plants from seeds and I am reading up on how to use the new pressure cooker set my husband bought me.

I received my OfficePRO on Mach 16th and on the backcover was an ad from OFFICETEAM that I found intriguing. I tried the download as suggested and good not get any response, so I called 1.800.804.8367 for help. The person on the phone was very pleasant and sounded very helpful and said she would have IT check it out and she would get back with me. Neither has happened. I still am not able to get into the website and wanted to know if anyone else has been able to get the FREE guide.

I had the good fortune to be able to attend the IAAP Spring Professional Education Conference in Reno, Nevada last week. One of the many learnings that I took away came from the session led by Jennifer Webb on the topic “Ignite Your Super Hero Powers: Taking Relationship Building to the Next Level”.

March Madness is upon us! Okay, maybe not for everyone but for those of us who are avid collegiate basketball fans, more than likely you've already filled in the brackets, lined up friends and family to watch the games with over the next several weekends, and are following the bracket play just like I am. However, my team couldn't make it past the first round of the Big Ten Conference tournament. As I've watched them play during the second half of the season I found myself continually asking the question, "What happened?" They started this season as the #2 ranked team in the nation. Now, they're going into the NCAA tournament playoffs as a fifth seed. Have they lost their team spirit? Their ability to play as a team? There's always one individual on the court to engineer the plays; is the issue that too many are trying to be the engineer? Added to that are several suspensions and/or injuries that have caused changes to the starting line up. And, Coach Izzo is not afraid to sit his players when it's apparent they're a greater liability on the court than sitting the bench.
